Every product KIC manufactures includes a unique lot code that helps track production details like date and time of manufacturing. Understanding where to locate the lot code & how to interpret ensures our product authenticity, supports quality control, and helps you access accurate information for product shelf life identification.
WHERE TO FIND PRODUCT LOT CODE?
Pouch products, the lot code is typically printed on the heat-sealed edge. The series of numbers may appear on the top or bottom seal of the front or back of pouch.
Bottle products, the fill date (mm/yyyy) is typically printed on the bottom of bottle.
HOW TO READ PRODUCT LOT CODE?
The first two digits of the lot code represent the year of manufacture. The next three digits indicate the day of the year in Julian date format—use the downloadable calendar below to convert this number to the corresponding date. Following that is the production equipment identifier. The final section shows the time of manufacture using a 24-hour clock.
Private label products manufactured by KIC may use different lot code formats.
