A regular cleaning routine is the best way to increase both operational efficiency and the longevity of the equipment while reducing service calls. Based on the manufacturers’ recommendations and customer feedback, we encourage the following best practices for optimal results:

Clean more frequently before and after periods of high use.

Card Readers

Clean once per week. Clean more frequently after periods of high usage.


Clean more frequently after periods of high use for both credit card and player tracking slots in areas prone to an abundance of dust, food and drink particles and ash.

Currency Counters

Clean once per week. Clean more frequently after periods of high usage.


Money is extremely dirty and can cause misreads, counting inaccuracy and operational failure if not cleaned regularly. Failure to clean frequently can cause bill slippage, unbalanced ledgers and tally shortages.

Thermal / Ticket Printers

Clean with every media roll change or at least twice per month.


Clean more frequently after periods of high use.

Printers become dirty from “paper dust” and adhesives as well as environmental contaminants. Cards, wipes, swabs and pens clean the printhead and any build-up on the printer's rollers.

Dirty Device Symptoms:

  • Paper jams
  • Poor print and image quality
  • Illegible winnings

Touch Screens, Tablets and Monitors

Clean when screen is noticeably dirty or at least once per week. Clean more frequently after periods of high usage.


Clean more frequently for outdoor or table top devices.

Touch or sensitive screens, should be checked daily for fingerprint and grime build up. Dirty screens are the cause for slow response or erroneous input, and they can cause customer perception to be that of a poorly run casino.
